Vinícius Júnior scored the only goal of the match in the 50th minute of the round of 16 against Benfica, but after the goal he clashed with Gianluca Prestianni.
The Brazilian then went to the referee, and the match was suspended for ten minutes, AFP reported, in accordance with protocol for dealing with racist incidents.
The game resumed, but Benfica's coach José Mourinho had to watch the final part of the match from the stands after being sent off.
Earlier in the evening, Galatasaray defeated Italian giants Juventus 5–2.
In Tuesday's other matches, PSG beat Monaco 3-2 and Dortmund beat Atalanta 2-0.
