The home team Gais took an early lead when Kevin Holmén scored after a corner kick.
The 1–0 scoreline held for a long time before AIK turned the game around with two goals in six minutes in the second half. Young star Zadok Yohanna headed in the equalizer and Johan Hove added another.
However, it didn't take long before Gais was back in the game. Less than ten minutes after AIK's opening goal, Rasmus Niklasson Petrovic tied the score at 2–2 with a fine finish from outside the box.
During added time, Shalom Ekong got free of Kristoffer Nordfeldt in a deep position and placed the 3-2 goal between the legs of the AIK goalkeeper.
Gais will face the winner of the quarter-final between Mjällby and Malmö FF in the semi-finals. That match will be played at 3:00 PM on Saturday.
