Both Gais and Häcken lacked several important pieces when the teams clashed in a heated Göteborgsderby.
Häcken came to play with youths such as Nikola Mitrovic, 19, and Harry Hilvenius, 17, from the start. Gais, on the other hand, formed a relatively expected eleven considering the many absent players.
Gais then took the lead directly in the derby when Robin Niklasson Petrovic scored 1–0.
Just a few minutes later, it was time again. This time, as so many times before this season, through Ibrahim Diabate. The top scorer's tenth goal of the season.
With 20 minutes left of the match, Gais also made it 3–0 through Amin Boudri.
Häcken reduced the score with just under ten minutes left, but no closer than that did the yellow and black team come.
With the win, Gais climbed up to sixth place in the Allsvenskan table. Häcken is parked in eighth place.
In parallel with the Göteborgsderby, Elfsborg lost important points in the pursuit of the rest of the teams at the top of the table. The meeting against Värnamo away from home ended 0–0.
