On X, the Swede's NHL club, the Colorado Avalanche, wrote ahead of Sunday night's match against Minnesota:
"Gabriel Landeskog will not play due to a lower body injury. He is being evaluated week by week."
Landeskog had been in a race against time for the Olympics after suffering an injury in the game against Florida around the turn of the year.
Before that, the 33-year-old had missed three seasons due to a knee injury, but was back for the current season.
