Aaron Boupendza, national team player in football for Gabon, has died after falling from the 11th floor of a building in China where he played for the club team Zhejiang.
"At the age of 28, Boupendza has left us. He will be remembered as a fantastic striker who made a big impact in the CAN (African Championship) in Cameroon", writes Gabon's football association (Fegafoot) in a statement on X.
Boupendza scored a goal in the group stage and a goal in a penalty shootout when Gabon reached the round of 16 in the 2022 tournament.
