One of the biggest scandals in Norwegian cross-country skiing ever, if you ignore more serious matters, says TV2 expert Petter Skinstad, according to the Norwegian news agency NTB.

There was already major drama on the first stretch. Then Petter Northug - who was competing against his younger brother Even Northug - pushed Edvard Sandvik, causing the competitor to fall off the ski track.

I think it's a clear foul, says expert Skinstad.

After the race, Petter Northug had to explain himself to the race jury, which accepted his reasoning.

"I'm defending my place, and when someone else tries to get in there, it's by about five centimetres... It's idiotic. I have to show that it's my track," says Northug.
