"With the new assignment, Lustig will also be a central part of the association's ongoing recruitment process to find a permanent sports director. The work of identifying and evaluating candidates is already underway," the club writes on its website.
Lustig has previously had an active role in the club's academy.
Västerås SK took the step back up to the Allsvenskan last fall after a year in the Superettan.
