European funds and emerging markets also topped the list of most purchased funds over the past month.
"We are seeing a significant wave of returnees, and it continues to strengthen," says Felicia Schön, savings economist at Avanza, in a press release.
In addition to funds with exposure to North America, Nordnet found that many investors chose to sell funds exposed to precious metals.
"During February, the silver price in particular suffered a spectacular hangover after a largely speculative rise. In this situation, fund investors are choosing to step away," says Frida Bratt, savings economist at Nordnet, in a press release.
