"The low price trend for food is continuing, which means that we are seeing growth in both value and volume for the grocery trade," said Karin Brynell, CEO of Svensk Dagligvaruhandel, in a press release.
Adjusted for calendar effects, including Easter this year falling right at the end of March, the increase was 3.4 percent.
During the first quarter, sales growth was 4.4 percent compared with the same period last year.
