The larger European stock exchanges performed strongly on Monday. The CAC 40 index in Paris rose 2.2 percent and the DAX index in Frankfurt increased 1.5 percent, while the FTSE 100 index in London edged up marginally, up 0.2 percent.
In the USA, trading on Wall Street also began with gains, despite the long-term market rates rising to their highest level in over a year. After approximately half of the trading day, all three leading indexes stood in the plus.
