Fulham’s Alvaro Arbeloa fined £25,000 for saying referees won’t let Manchester United lose

Fulham coach Alvaro Arbeloa said in an interview that the referees “won’t let Manchester United lose.”

The English Football Association did not appreciate the comment and fined Arbeloa 25,000 pounds (equivalent to 330,000 kronor).

Arbeloa made the comment after the 1-1 Premier League draw with Manchester United in September, when the visitors’ Matheus Cunha equalised in the 89th minute.

Arbeloa has admitted that he made a mistake.

Fulham have taken just two points from their first six games and are bottom of the Premier League.
