"He has to fight from the inside," Pras's spokesperson Erica Dumas tells Rolling Stone and continues:
"His appeal is in its early stages. As you can imagine, it is a very complicated case."
In November 2025, 53-year-old Pras, who once co-founded the group Fugees, was sentenced to 14 years in prison. A federal jury convicted him in 2023 on ten charges, including money laundering and illegal lobbying. For example, Pras is alleged to have illegally transferred millions of dollars from a Malaysian businessman to US President Barack Obama's re-election campaign in 2012.
