American, Chinese and Russian officials are reportedly holding discussions to arrange a summit during the Apec meeting in Shenzhen, China, in two weeks.
Work is underway to organize such a meeting, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told the Financial Times.
However, China's Foreign Ministry has declined to confirm a meeting between the three presidents. The White House in Washington has not yet responded to the newspaper's questions, but Trump has previously confirmed that he will meet Xi in Shenzhen.
The Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (Apec) meeting will be held on November 18-19. Before that, Trump is expected to visit the Philippines.
