Several family members were in the home at the time of the explosion but no one was injured.
"We received the alarm at 00:55, and it appears to have been a fairly powerful bomb. The front door is completely blown away but otherwise the only damage appears to be to a vehicle," says Morten Gunneng, duty officer at Police Region West.
No one has been arrested for the crime and the police have opened a preliminary investigation into public danger.
"We are looking at the people who live there and at all the information we have, but as it stands we do not know what or who it was aimed at," says Morten Gunneng.
