National team captain Sam Hallam confirms plans to add Frondell, who will play left wing against Slovenia tonight.
"We were waiting for an answer from Leo Carlsson. When we knew he wasn't coming, it was natural - they're not the same in that way. But looking at the power play, the position and the lineup, I wanted to be sure of what role I had to offer. It feels like a good position now," Hallam told the newspaper.
Sweden has lost to both Canada and the Czech Republic in the group stage in Fribourg, Switzerland. Their only victory so far came against Denmark.
