In an interview with Good Morning America, Holland talks about the switch from sandals to tap shoes. In the role of Fred Astaire, he will do all the dance scenes himself, and the ambition is to film the dances in a single take.
Tom Holland got his big break in the musical "Billy Elliot" but stopped dancing after the role, something he regrets.
"I had my first dance rehearsal the other day and I was very excited afterwards, but I also felt pure terror because I have so much work left to do to make Fred proud," he says in the interview.
Fred Astaire rose to fame in the 1930s with films like “Top Hat” and “Singin' in the Rain.” He is considered one of Hollywood's greatest dancers of all time.
