It is possible to reach the Olympic Games in different ways. Evelina Lundqvist has done it as a makeup artist.
She is part of a group of about 15 makeup artists who work for the TV company Warner Bros Discovery's international department.
The studio is located on the roof of a luxury hotel in central Paris.
She makes up both Swedish and international presenters, experts, and sports stars.
Gets a schedule
I work between 05 and 13 approximately. We get a schedule of who we are going to make up. It usually takes about an hour for the girls and a quarter of an hour for the boys, she says.
Many say "now I would like to go out and have a glass of wine when I'm so fine". It makes you very happy.
She got Armand Duplantis when he came to the studio in the morning after his Olympic gold and world record in pole vault.
I have made him up before. A very nice and pleasant guy.
It was clear that he had had a fun night and not slept much. How do you think then?
It was nothing unusual compared to what I usually do. I like to make up boys naturally, I did that this time too. And of course, I congratulated him on the gold and world record when he sat down in my chair.
Works with "Melodifestivalen"
In her daily work, Evelina Lundqvist works with big TV programs like "Melodifestivalen", "Allsång på Skansen" and "Lets dance".
So how did the 37-year-old from Örebro end up in Paris?
I have worked a lot with Jessica Almenäs (presenter in the Olympic studio). From the beginning, she wanted me to come along, we have done two Olympics from Sweden. But they would not have so much personnel from Sweden.
Instead, she was recommended by a woman at the TV company's Swedish office, did an interview – and got the job.
Evelina Lundqvist sounds like a fresh Olympic gold medalist when she talks about the weeks in the French capital:
This is the worst dream job. One of the best periods in my life. I'm having so much fun here.
Do you get to see any Olympic competitions?
It's hard to get tickets and they are quite expensive. I don't know if I want to pay 10,000 kronor to go and watch a match. But track and field would be fantastic to see.
