When the women's hockey league SDHL took a national team break a couple of weeks ago, Frölunda was in the lead.
Now that the team is going on Christmas leave, it's in third place in the series after two tough home losses.
2–3 on Friday evening against Linköping – after losing a 2–0 lead – was followed up with 1–2 against Djurgården barely a day later.
It's disappointing. We're playing very unevenly, we're creating some opportunities but also giving away some easy chances. We're better than this, says forward Andrea Dalen to TV4 Play.
Djurgården took revenge for the loss against second-to-last HV71 on Friday evening.
In the end, national team goalie Ida Boman stepped forward as the matchwinner when the home team forced a numerical superiority.
By then, Djurgården had taken a 2–0 lead through goals by Sara Säkkinen and Tereza Plosova. Elisa Holopainen reignited Frölunda's hopes with a reduction in the middle of the third period, but that was all.
The championship team of the last six seasons, Luleå, is going on Christmas leave in the lead with a four-point margin to second-place Modo, who have one fewer game played.
Third-place Frölunda is five points behind Luleå, and Djurgården moved up to fourth place.
