After Frölunda took their twelfth straight win in the opening of SDHL ice hockey, it was announced as a record in the women's top league. However, it was not correct. We will check what we have done wrong and how we prevent such things from happening again, says SDHL's sports manager Johan Schillgard to Göteborgs-Posten.

A few days before the winning match against Luleå (3–1), SDHL posted information on their website and Instagram that a Frölunda win would make the Gothenburg team historically have the most consecutive wins during a season start.

The posts were however removed after record holder Luleå reacted to the post, but that information never reached Frölunda who after Sunday's win announced on their website that the team had now taken over the record.

However, there is no record. SDHL states that it is an external company that is responsible for the statistics.

It's not us who releases it, but it ends up on our page, says Johan Schillgard to GP.

The newspaper writes that Luleå in the 2022–2023 season started the season with twelve consecutive wins and that the club from Norrbotten in the 2020–2021 season took 21 consecutive wins in SDHL.
