Frightening scenes unfolded at the beginning of the second half in the Italian match between Udinese and Milan.
Goalkeeper Mike Maignan came out from the penalty area to clear a ball, when he collided with teammate Álex Jiménez.
Maignan lost consciousness on the pitch, before being carried out on a stretcher – then conscious.
Milan's second goalkeeper Marco Sportiello got to come in instead of Maignan.
Jiménez continued to play, but lay down 20 minutes later and was then substituted.
Later in the evening, it was reported that Maignan had been taken to hospital in Udine for further investigation.
Milan won the match against Udinese with 4–0. The Milan club is ninth in Serie A.
