Barcelona player joins the national team camp in Skåne's Åhus on Monday for further investigations.
"When Fridolina now joins us in the national team, we get the opportunity to make follow-up investigations over the next few days, for further dialogue on handling going forward together with the club team Barcelona. At present, we therefore do not have the opportunity to provide any further updates," says national team doctor Houman Ebrahimi in a statement from the national team.
Rolfö injured herself in the Nations League win against Denmark on June 3. A few days later, Barcelona announced that the 31-year-old had suffered an injury to two ligaments in her left ankle.
This did not, however, prevent national team coach Peter Gerhardsson from selecting the player in his squad.
Our medical team needs to look at this. Fridolina is such an important player, so we want to give her this chance, said Gerhardsson at the squad selection two weeks ago.
A few days before the selection, Rolfö was seen with crutches and her left foot in a protective boot on Barcelona's Instagram.
Tottenham player Matilda Vinberg has been called up to the European Championship squad as a backup for Rolfö and will be part of the preparations for the championship.
On Thursday, a dress rehearsal awaits away against Norway in Oslo. Sweden plays its European Championship premiere on July 4 in Geneva and will also face Poland and Germany during the group stage.
