"I'm just so happy and proud of myself," she says in a press release.

In the final of the World Cup competition in Vikersund, Norway, she jumped 225 meters, seven meters farther than Friday's qualifying jump, which had been the previous Swedish record.

Frida Westman finished second behind Norwegian Eirin Maria Kvandal, who won with a total of 425.9 points. Westman scored 420.5 points.

Westman jumped 225 meters in both of her final jumps and climbed from third to second place after her second jump.

The Swedish ski jumper seems to thrive on the bigger slopes. Her only previous World Cup podium came on the big hill in Wisla, Poland, in 2022, when she finished third.

Westman, 25, came fourth in the large hill at the Milan-Cortina Olympics in February.
