The 26-year-old competed sparingly before the Winter Games, but showed in the first race, the 20 km skiathlon, that she was in top form. She won by a landslide. Then she won another gold, the 10 km freestyle, and took silver in the relay.

Now the skier will receive the Victoria Prize in 2026.

"Her achievements in the Olympics have not only resulted in victories and medals, but also created moments that have engaged and touched the Swedish people. She is a very worthy recipient," says Stephan Rimér, who is responsible for Victoria Days.

Karlsson:

"Receiving the Victoria Prize feels incredibly great and an honor."

The prize will be awarded by Crown Princess Victoria during Victoria Day in Borgholm on July 14.
