In the beginning of April, the man was sentenced to conditional sentence and 40,000 in damages after having stalked Frida Karlsson for a year and four months.

At a press conference during the Swedish Olympic Committee's Olympic Games camp on Crete, the 25-year-old tells about the situation for the first time.

It has been a process. But I think he has gotten enough focus. Just this with stalking is something that affects many and it was one of the reasons why we reported it, says the skiing star.

It affects not just public figures. It's primarily women who are exposed and it's also for them that I'm doing this now.

"Got to say my piece"

Karlsson says it was "nice" to have gotten through the trial.

That I have gotten to say my piece, what I have thought and stood up for myself. Everyone should say when something is wrong and when someone crosses the line. And I hope that all who are exposed do so.

Both parties have appealed the verdict to the Court of Appeal – where prosecutor Christina Edlund Nilsson to see imprisonment for the man.

I see positively on her moving forward, says Karlsson.

"Concern for my integrity"

Right should be right, where he should get the punishment he deserves. Then it may eventually set a kind of standard, not just for me but for all others who are exposed as well.

TT: Has all this changed you?

It may have become so that I have become a bit more concerned about my integrity than I once was.

According to the indictment, the man called the skiing star 207 times, left masses of voice messages and sent masses of text messages. In the man's mobile, over 7,000 images were found, almost all of them of Karlsson. He has also looked up the 25-year-old at several places, including outside her apartment in Östersund.
