Frida Karlsson opens up about the collapse at the Beijing Olympics four years ago. "I really just felt like I wanted to get out of there," she tells SVT.

Ahead of next year's Olympics, Frida Karlsson looks back on the championship four years ago in SVT Sports' series "The Journey to the Olympics".

After collapsing several times, she was stopped from running the three-mile run by the medical team.

"I remember there was a lot of discomfort in me. I wasn't feeling very well at the time," she says in the program.

The Beijing Championships were held in the aftermath of the pandemic, and everything around sports was stripped back. According to Karlsson, this contributed to the focus being on results - which became too serious for her.

She looks even brighter at the upcoming championships:

It's a bit of a revenge feeling. Now four years later, I've learned what works for me.
