A positive message as Frida Karlsson goes for her first individual Olympic medal. "The heel doesn't bother me. I feel completely unconstrained by it," says the long-distance star.

Frida Karlsson is one of the favorites for the first cross-country race at the Olympics in Italy. And ahead of Saturday's skiathlon, she seems to have finally overcome her troublesome heel.

"I still focus a lot on it and do a lot of rehab. But I feel like I can do what I want in training. I don't really focus that much on it," says Karlsson.

During the Tour de Ski at the turn of the year, the 26-year-old had difficulty performing at her best as she didn't dare to press down on her heel properly. Now the feeling is different:

"I feel balanced and I think it will be fun. And that is usually a good indicator."
