Last winter, she was considering competing in sprints at the Olympics in Cortina. But heel problems put a stop to that. Now that her heel feels better than it has in a long time, she wants to make a new attempt at sprints, which she hasn't competed in for a couple of years.

I'm eager to try to achieve that. In a dream world, I would have competed in all the World Cup competitions and been able to go for the overall World Cup. That would be freedom, says Frida Karlsson.

She is also keen to try running ultra races.

Those are pretty tough races. You run for sixty miles or so.

She says she is "negotiating" the long cross-country races with her physio, Marcus Bystedt.
