The stab to Manon's left underarm came in the middle of the night, when many festival visitors at Fête de la musique in Bordeaux had begun to go home. Her arm muscle began to numb, "like when you get vaccinated", she tells CNN. Half an hour later, the injection mark appeared.
She did not know who had stabbed her or what she could have been injected with. She went to the emergency room and then shared her experiences on Tiktok.
She will have to wait several weeks for the test results.
We had seen on social media that we should be careful, but I think people want to know more – how it happens, the symptoms, how it develops. It calmed me down to talk about it, because at the time I was completely alone, she says to CNN.
Then she filed a police report.
It's important because if we are too lax, if we think that others will report it, then nothing will ever change, she says.
In total, around 145 people are reported to have been stabbed with syringes during the music festival. At least 14 people have been arrested, and the police are investigating several people who on social media have urged the attacks.
