In June, Andreeva won her first Grand Slam title when the Russian won the French Open. But at Wimbledon, it ended in the second round.
The world number five won the first set, but then lost the match. Andreeva lost 1-2 in sets to 38th-ranked Krejcikova: 6-4, 5-7, 4-6.
"The atmosphere has been incredible. We played for almost three hours, what a match," says Krejcikova and continues:
She (Andreeva) is such a young and unique player, she has everything ahead of her. Very difficult match but I am very happy and very proud that I managed to win on this beautiful court.
Krejcikova won Wimbledon in 2018.
