The French Navy seized a total of 8.6 tonnes of drugs in several operations in the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean in October.

Most of the drugs seized were cocaine, almost 6.9 tonnes, along with 1.7 tonnes of marijuana.

The largest seizure was made off the island of Martinique, where a fishing boat without a flag that had begun a journey across the Atlantic was stopped. Five people were arrested in connection with the incident.
