French man fined in Singapore for licking a straw and putting it back among clean ones

The clip in which the man is seen licking the straw went viral in March, and now he has been ordered to pay a fine equivalent to 4,500 kronor.

The man admitted to the offence, which was classified as disturbing public order. According to the verdict, the act is considered to fall on the lower end of the punishment scale, and the man's young age also played a role.
