Rising inflation in France - at its highest level since May - is strengthening the case for the European Central Bank (ECB) to tighten policy with interest rate hikes. In fixed-income market pricing, the probability of a 0.25 percentage point increase in the ECB’s key interest rates in September is 100 percent.
Preliminary Spanish inflation figures are also expected later on Friday, with inflation expected to rise to 4.6 percent in August.
