The forest fire, which broke out in coniferous forest areas outside the city of Bordeaux in southwestern France more than a week ago, is described as the largest in France since 1949.
The fire is under control and is no longer spreading, says Laurent Nunez.
According to Nunez, there are still active outbreaks in some areas.
