Freja Hallberg is the artistic leader of Konträr, an independent theater in Stockholm and "a hub in the capital's independent cultural life", as it is described among other things in the motivation.
This year's honorary prize goes to the actor Andreas T Olsson, the artistic leader of Soppteatern.
The Benny Award will be presented at a ceremony at Klara Soppteater on November 3.
The Benny Award is financed jointly by Kulturhuset Stadsteatern in Stockholm and Benny Fredriksson's wife Anne Sofie von Otter. The prize was established in 2020.
