Fredrik Lindgren continues to show fine form at the start of the season. During Saturday evening, the Swede took the season's first podium place in the World Championship, when he finished second in the Czech Republic's World Championship event.

During the two initial heats, 39-year-old Fredrik Lindgren has secured a fifth place and a seventh place, and missed the final by a narrow margin.

So, it was third time lucky for the Swede in Czech Prague.

After impressing during the heats and finishing second overall, he grabbed the second direct spot to the final, only behind Bartosz Zmarzlik.

And that's how it went in the final as well. The Swede finished second behind the Pole, who has now won two out of three heats.

It's obviously nice to be back on the podium, and to go straight to the final. It was important for me. I wish I had won, but it wasn't meant to be today, says Lindgren in Discovery's broadcast.

Lindgren is fifth in the overall standings.
