Fredrik Lindgren Claims Third Place at Speedway World Championship in England

First he was involved in a crash – then Fredrik Lindgren took his second podium for the season when he became third in the World Championship event in speedway in Manchester. I am pretty tired of losing in the final, says Lindgren in Eurosport's broadcast.

Fredrik Lindgren made it to the final both evenings in Manchester. But unlike fourth place on Friday evening, the 39-year-old Swede reached the podium on Saturday.

He finished third in the final after World Championship leader Bartosz Zmarzlik who won ahead of Brady Kurtz, Australia.

A step better than yesterday, says Lindgren without being particularly satisfied.

Fredrik Lindgren was involved in a crash in the 15th heat when he got stuck with the front wheel in Brady Kurtz's rear wheel after the Australians drove in front.

Both fell, but could continue the competition.

Kurtz was disqualified from the heat which Lindgren then won, his first heat win of the evening after three second places beforehand.

In the World Championship summary, Fredrik Lindgren advanced from fifth to third place, behind Zmarzlik and Kurtz.

Fredrik Lindgren finished third in the World Championship series last year and took silver in 2023.

The next World Championship round will be held in Polish Gorzow on Midsummer's Eve.
