Backman's novel "My Friends" will be published this summer, four years after his last book. It's about four lost teenagers whose friendship "during one summer will change almost everything", writes the publisher.

In the fall of 2024, Fredrik Backman released the English-language novella "The answer is no" on Amazon, which has been read by over 500,000 people. But now he's writing in Swedish again. In the press release, he tells us that he's had health problems and has re-evaluated a number of things.

"So I allowed myself a life crisis. During a fairly long period, I considered completely retiring from book publishing and devoting myself to something else. So 'My Friends' is probably my attempt to find myself again. It's probably the most personal book I've written", says Fredrik Backman.

Backman's books have been published in 40 languages, and his novel "A Man Called Ove" has been filmed both in Sweden and in the USA.
