Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen is in Greenland to show her support during a "very, very difficult time," she said.

"I am, first and foremost, in Greenland today to show Denmark's strong support for the Greenlandic people," she said, according to DR, during a brief press conference.

And so I am here because Greenland's Prime Minister Jens-Frederik Nielsen and I must cooperate very closely.

"We are in a serious situation. Everyone can see that. Now we are following a diplomatic and political track; that is what we are going to prepare today," she says, calling the visit "a working day."

But when asked if the crisis is now over, she chooses to begin her tour in the capital, Nuuk, according to DR.
