Frederiksen is in Greenland's capital Nuuk to show her support during a "very, very difficult time" and to discuss a common position with Prime Minister Jens-Frederik Nielsen.

"I am first and foremost in Greenland today to show the strong Danish support for the Greenlandic people," she says, according to DR.

According to Danish media, Greenland has long pushed for a reprioritization but had previously been ignored. The response has given her hope that Greenlanders will feel stronger support, and not just from Denmark.

I hope it is noticeable how Europe has chosen to stand behind Greenland.

But she does not want to answer a direct question about whether she trusts President Donald Trump, saying the situation is still serious and that Denmark and Greenland are working on an agreement with the U.S. She does not want to go into details, but emphasizes that she and Nielsen are in complete agreement.

I think I can speak for both of us when I say that. It is important for us, for both our countries, our citizens, parliaments, governments, yes, for all of Greenland and all of Denmark, that we stand united on this and remain so.

It is important that we stand as strong as we can in a world where, you could say, we are all being buffeted.
