Thursday to Saturday, the US national security adviser Mike Waltz and the American energy minister Chris Wright are expected to visit Greenland together with Usha Vance, wife of Vice President JD Vance, who is leading the company.

It's completely clear that this is not a visit about what Greenland needs or wants right now, she tells Danish TV2.

The American delegation will, among other things, visit a dog sled competition on Greenland. From the White House, it has been said that it's about learning more about Greenland and its history, culture, and people.

You can't make a private visit with official representatives from another country, says Frederiksen in the interview.

She repeats that she views the situation seriously and emphasizes that the American visit cannot be seen as independent of what the American president previously stated about Greenland.

President Donald Trump is serious and determined. He wants Greenland, says Frederiksen.
