”We cannot change what has happened. But we can take responsibility. Therefore, I want to apologize on behalf of Denmark”, says Frederiksen in a press release, reports DR.

She apologizes for the cases that occurred until 1992, when Denmark was responsible for healthcare in Greenland.

Greenland's Prime Minister Jens-Frederik Nielsen apologizes for the cases that occurred after Greenland took over the responsibility for healthcare.

”The Government of Greenland recognizes our own responsibility. It has therefore already been decided to provide access to compensation for affected women. The work on this has been ongoing since January, and an announcement will soon be made on how affected women can apply for compensation”, he says.

An impartial investigation of the case is expected to be ready for publication in September after being delayed several times.

The statements come on the same day as Danish Radio's revelation that at least three American citizens are conducting influence campaigns in Greenland.
