The men, who are in their 25-year-olds, are suspected of having murdered two Swedes who had been missing in Ethiopia since March 2022. The victims are believed to have worked at a call center that the fraud gang used to deceive elderly Swedes out of money.
The men, who deny the crime, were arrested on Wednesday afternoon suspected of, among other things, murder.
In the ongoing trial at the Gothenburg District Court, the duo and twelve other persons are charged with various crimes against 139 elderly individuals. They are suspected of, via calls from call centers in different countries, having obtained over 17 million kronor through the frauds.
