Quartey succeeds Gunilla Röör, who has been the manager of the theatre since 2020.
"The theatre has a unique role in the region, and in the country as Sweden's first provincial theatre, and I want to continue developing the artistic activities together with the employees and create stories that touch, challenge and inspire", says Quartey in a press release.
Fransesca Quartey comes from a position as chairman of the common organization for the artistic professions, Klys.
