A Swiss alpine star has already won three Olympic gold medals in Bormio. The surprise: his name is Franjo von Allmen, not Marco Odermatt.

24-year-old von Allmen is experiencing some almost unimaginable days during the opening of the Olympics.

After winning gold in the downhill and team event, Franjo von Allmen was also fastest in Wednesday's super-G. He won by 13 hundredths of a second ahead of American Ryan Cochran-Siegle and 28 hundredths of a second ahead of compatriot Marco Odermatt.

Today was a special day, even for me, he said in the victory interview afterwards, and continued:

Crazy, I was happy with the two golds.

Odermatt was the one who was predicted to be the Olympic king on the slopes in Bormio, but he is still waiting for his first gold. Fourth place in the downhill, silver in the team event and bronze in the super-G are Odermatt's results so far.
