French authorities have seized nearly ten tons of cocaine in a raid in the port city of Dunkerque – the largest cocaine seizure in metropolitan France, according to media company BFMTV.
The discovery was made over the weekend in a container that had arrived from South America, writes the newspaper Le Parisien.
The drugs have a street value of around 320 million euros, equivalent to approximately 3.5 billion kronor.
In 2024, a total of 53.5 tons of cocaine were seized in France, of which 47 tons were in Dunkerque, figures that according to Le Parisien appear to be increasing this year.
