When France, after Friday's quarterfinal thriller against Portugal, became clear for the semifinal, it was without having scored - or conceded - a single goal during their five matches so far in the tournament.

In France's first match, they won after an Austrian own goal, in the second group stage match against the Netherlands, the match ended completely goalless.

In the last group stage match against Poland, the team's two superstars Robert Lewandowski and Kylian Mbappé each scored a penalty in the match that ended 1-1.

When France eliminated Belgium in the round of 16, Randal Kolo Muani scored France's winning goal, but everyone saw how the Belgian defender Jan Vertonghen steered the shot past his own goalkeeper.

In the latest European Championships, French goal scorers have fought at the top of the scoring league, in 2021, Karim Benzema came third with four goals, in 2016, Antoine Griezmann topped the championship's scoring league with six goals.
