The previously predicted annual growth of 0.9 percent is now being lowered to 0.7 percent. This is stated by Finance Minister Eric Lombard to the TV channel TF1.

Whether further downward adjustments can become relevant depends, according to the minister, on future tariff negotiations.

If we succeed in lowering the tariffs, it could even go better for us, and if we don't, then we'll see, he says.

The fact that Trump has now paused his further increased tariffs is good news according to Lombard, who, however, urges calm in the storm.

We must remain calm.
