France Fines Shein 40 Million Euros for Misleading Consumers

France's competition and consumer authority is penalizing the Chinese fashion site Shein for having misled consumers, writes news agency Reuters on its site.

The authority said on Thursday that it had issued a fine of 40 million euros, equivalent to 450 million Swedish kronor, to the fast fashion company.

Shein is being penalized with a fine for, according to the French authority, having used illegal business methods and misled customers regarding, among other things, discounts.

According to the authority, Shein has accepted the fine.
