A hacker group with ties to the Russian intelligence service has carried out cyber attacks against, among other things, the Olympic Games in Paris and French organizations linked to the aerospace and defense industry, the financial sector, and government departments, according to French authorities.
In a report from the agency for cyber security, Anssi, incidents from 2021 to 2024 are described, which are said to have links to the group APT28, also known as Fancy Bear.
According to the report, the intrusions are said to have aimed to gather intelligence information, primarily in connection with Russia's war of invasion in Ukraine.
