In the NATO country Romania, fragments of Russian drones have been found, confirms the Romanian Defense Department, writes Reuters. The finds were made in the countryside near the Danube River, which borders Ukraine.
Russian drones have attacked the port city of Izmail in southwestern Ukraine for the second night in a row. According to local authorities, infrastructure has been damaged in the port area. Two civilians were also injured.
The Kremlin has long targeted ports in the southern Odessa region, which are crucial for Ukraine's grain exports.
According to the Ukrainian Air Force, Russia sent 38 Iran-made attack drones, of which 25 were shot down by Ukraine's air defense systems.
"Three more Shahed drones crossed the border into Romania," the Air Force stated.
Military personnel in Romania, which borders the Odessa region, have searched for downed drones near the border with Ukraine. According to the authorities there, many Romanians have reported hearing explosions.
