The District Court finds that the man has conducted large-scale drug trafficking at various locations in Sweden, where he has had "a leading role".
"The criminal activity has also had links to organized crime. This has affected the sentence", says the presiding judge and chairman of the case Ulrika Åkerdahl, according to a press release.
Enormous resources
The 38-year-old is convicted, despite his denial, of ten cases of aggravated drug offenses, one case of particularly aggravated drug offenses, aggravated weapons offenses, and offenses against the law on fire hazardous and explosive goods. The criminal activity took place in 2023, when the man was residing in Serbia for most of the time.
From there, he has given instructions to various individuals around Sweden – including Skövde, Örebro, Uddevalla, Vänersborg, Norrköping, and Göteborg – to acquire, transfer, and store large quantities of drugs.
The man has handled contacts in Sweden through encrypted chat messages, where he went under the aliases "Rambo", "Van Damme", "Bas Rutten", and "Mrmillionz", according to the court.
Prosecutor Johanna Kolga has described the 38-year-old as a man with "enormous violent capital and enormous financial resources".
He has controlled much of the drug market and weapons market in Sweden, she has said to TT.
The police investigation has revealed that the man had a close relationship with Foxtrot leader Rawa Majid. It also appears that the 38-year-old had a debt to Majid of nearly four million kronor that he tried to pay off.
Arrested in Serbia
At the request of Sweden, he was arrested by Serbian police in Belgrade in October 2023, and extradited after a lengthy process in December last year.
The evidence against the man has, among other things, consisted of material from chats and phone tapping. Over 100,000 messages have been reviewed in the investigation.
We have pieced together a puzzle to come to the conclusion that it is precisely this person who has controlled the operation, Kolga has said.
